On-hand entries aggregation by financial dimensions

Similar to On-hand clean functionality, there is functionality to sum up on-hand entries by financial dimension. You may want to do this for prior closed years to clean up entries that have some financial impact but donΓÇÖt need the specific detail behind it in the on-hand screen. Source transactions will still have that detail if you need to back to find it.

Where is this in AX 2012?

In Inventory Management > Periodic > Clean up, look for On-hand entries aggregation by financial dimensions. This will let you filter the routine to specific things such as items or sites but it can be run as it. As with other clean up routines, I suggest you always run it in batch. This will identify items that have no open quantities, have all zero quantities in the on hand quantity fields and have no open transactions. This will largely limit this to non-stocked products. Then it will take all of the inventory summation records and consolidate them into one on-hand record.

Where is this in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain

This can be found in the same place as AX 2012 and is functionally the same.
